DCH Auriga Malaysia │ Digital Communication - Covid 19


MALAYSIA, 29 JUNE 2020 –

Similar with many countries around the world, the pandemic - Covid-19 has forced companies in Malaysia to visit digital transformation faster and DCH Auriga Malaysia is among one of the first in Healthcare distribution to ride on this move.

In this digital age, content and event digitalization is nothing new to us. However, keeping up with digital transformation in healthcare can feel overwhelming, not only to the smaller players but also mature organization. Having the right level of human touch is still very much acknowledged as an effective way to bond with healthcare professionals in Malaysia.

When social distancing was introduced, the contact points with healthcare were changed in order to stay connected with them. Efforts of connecting to healthcare professionals moved to our digital platform. Caring and guiding messages were sent to healthcare professionals through our messaging application to express continuous support on product information flow; product launches plan and timeline was also passed through mass email and messaging platform for business continuity.

Other than connecting with the healthcare professionals directly, we also help to gather and create platforms for mind share between healthcare professionals. As an example, we organized webinars for doctors and professors to provide updated information referencing patients condition during Covid-19, which can be useful to the wider healthcare community. At these webinars, healthcare professionals also took this chance to exchange opinions and look for common solutions on digitalization. E.g. telehealth and virtual clinic.


Internally, we also created additional activities to keep the morale and motivation high among our sales team who have to work around the restrictions and measures while keeping the targets and workstream intact. A key message contest was organized with 100% participation from our local team. The local business units were segregated into different groups as they worked together on key messages that they would like to communicate with the healthcare professionals. Their creativity and passion to serve the patients’ needs came up tops and fully displayed their experience and understanding towards customers’ needs and product access.


All in all, we will be continuing the digital communication to our healthcare professionals while adjusting our direct communication flow with consumers in order to meet the growing needs in digitalization while balancing human touch along this evolution. With the current situation, we believe consumers and patients will become more demanding, having healthcare needs served at their convenience, on their own terms and schedule will become the new normal. Good to know in the near future if this trend will continue to sustain and whether healthcare professional’s preference towards digital events over in-person platform will continue to grow in the mid to long term stream.
